IRON MOUNTAIN, MI (AP)--   An exhibit on the history of the Iron Mountain Ford Motor Co. plant in Kingsford has opened at the Cornish Pumping Engine and Mining Museum in Iron Mountain.

The Daily News of Iron Mountain reports that Menominee Range Historical Foundation vice president Bill Cummings compiled the information and photographs to tell the story of Ford's role in the area's history. Thousands of employees worked at the Iron Mountain Ford plant from 1920 to 1951.

In Nov. 12, 1925, the Iron Mountain plant employed 7,271 people. That was more than any other division of Ford at the time with the exception of the Detroit area.
The new exhibit features 30 enlarged photographs from the collection of the Menominee Range Historical Museum.
