Gogebic County suspect charged with home invasion

BESSEMER, MI--   A Wakefield man has been arrested in connection with several breaking and entering incidents in Bessemer.

State Police with the Wakefield Post were notified Friday of a home invasion in the city. Someone broke into a residence and vehicle. Two purses and about $245 were stolen.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office had taken four vehicle B&E complaints around the same time. Troopers and deputies worked together to identify a 29-year-old man as a suspect. He was arrested on a violation for using narcotics while out on bond for other home invasions.

The suspect consented to having his cell phone examined. Google Maps showed the man’s movements on Friday matched all locations where homes and cars had been broken into.

The suspect is charged with first-degree home invasion, larceny of personal property and a bond violation.
