SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI-- One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Sands Township over the weekend.
State Police say it happened Saturday around 3 p.m. on M-553 near County Road 480. A Toyota Camry driven by Scott Weiser, 50, of Gwinn was stopped on 553, waiting to turn left into the Crossroads Shell gas station, when it was struck from behind by a Chevy Traverse driven by Kristy Sorensen of Gwinn, 33.
Sorensen was treated at the scene and released. Weiser was taken to UP Health System Marquette for treatment.
Sorensen was found to be at fault in the crash and ticketed.
