Iron River man blamed for Bates Township crash

BATES TOWNSHIP, MI--   Minor injuries are reported, following a two-vehicle crash in Iron County.

Sheriff’s deputies say the accident happened Wednesday on US-2 at Bates Amasa Road in Bates Township.  They say Wilbert Krahn, 78, of Iron River pulled out onto the highway and into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Donald Powell, 52, also of Iron River.

Occupants of the Powell vehicle sought their own treatment for minor injuries.  Krahn was taken to Northstar Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  He was cited for failure to yield.
