Lakeshore Boulevard relocation project starts Wednesday

MARQUETTE, MI--   The City of Marquette will begin the first of a three-phase project to relocate a portion of Lakeshore Boulevard this week.

The affected section lies between Pine Street and a point north of Hawley Street. This phase includes roadway, multiuse pathway, and utility work from Pine Street to a point north of a new roundabout at Lakeshore Boulevard and Wright Street, and along the north side of Wright Street from the old railroad grade east of Presque Isle Avenue to the new roundabout.

Phase one is anticipated to be completed in the middle of July.

Wednesday beginning at 7 a.m. portions of Wright Street, Pine Street and Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed to through traffic.

Plans of the project can be seen at marquettemi.gov/lakeshore.
