M-123 resurfacing project starts July 10

LUCE COUNTY, MI--   A project to resurface about seven miles of M-123 in Luce County is slated to begin Monday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says it’s investing $560,000 to treat cracks, resurface, perform shoulder work, and create centerline rumble strips on the highway. Officials say the rumble strips are a proven and cost-effective way to prevent lane-departure crashes.

The work area runs from north of County Road 407 to north of Murphy Creek.

The project is expected to be completed by August 18.
