Man dies in Houghton County four-wheeler crash

DUNCAN TOWNSHIP, MI--   A downstate man has been killed in an ORV accident in Houghton County. 

Sheriff’s deputies say the rollover happened Monday around 9:30 a.m. off of Federal Forest Highway 16 in Duncan Township. 

Henry Cooley, 74, of Mackinaw City was in the woods to bait deer when he tried to drive down a small hill on his four-wheeler.  The vehicle lost traction on the snowy ground, flipped over, and fell onto Cooley. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
