Marquette deputies investigating hit-and-run suspect

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has developed a suspect in a pedestrian hit and run crash in Marquette Township on May 7. 

Deputies received a tip last week and found a van abandoned in a wooded area on County Road KB near Brown Deer Road in Powell Township. The van was towed to the Michigan State Police Forensic Lab in Marquette for processing.

Police say a suspect has been identified. The investigation continues and a report will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
