Marquette Township construction area changing

MARQUETTE, MI--   The traffic configuration is set to change in the work zone on the US-41 reconstruction and roundabouts project in Marquette Township Tuesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says traffic at the Brickyard Road/US-41 intersection will shift to the north side of the highway using the north half of the new roundabout. At this point, highway traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction at Brickyard Road. The north leg of Brickyard Road will be open, with right turns out and right turns in only.

Motorists should expect increased delay times and backups after the new lane restrictions go into effect.

During this phase of construction, work will continue on the south side of the highway and the south half of the new multi-use tunnel.

The new traffic configuration is expected to stay in place until late October.
