MSP arrests Menominee man on child porn charges

MENOMINEE, MI--   A Menominee man was arrested Monday for having child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an investigation of Nicholas Barstow, 24. It stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A search of Barstow’s residence uncovered multiple internet-capable devices and evidence.

Barstow is charged with two counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity; two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive activity; three counts of possession of child sexually abusive activity; three counts of child sexually abusive activity; and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
