MSP says man voluntarily missing in eastern UP

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   Troopers from the Sault Sainte Marie Post are helping the Lake Bluff, Illinois Police Department with a missing person case.

Russell Ulrey, 45, is believed to have rented a vehicle that was found abandoned in the Rudyard area a few days ago. He had made statements about doing a Lake Superior circle tour and may be on a blue metallic bicycle. Ulrey's family does not believe he’s suicidal or a harm to others.

Ulrey was last seen wearing a knit cap and baggy pants and was carrying an orange messenger bag.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Soo Post at 906-632-2217 or the Lake Bluff Police Department at 847-234-2153.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
