New COVID-19 cases in Upper Peninsula

MARQUETTE, MI--   Officials say 81 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the Upper Peninsula Tuesday.

The number per county is as follows:

  • Alger-1
  • Baraga-9
  • Chippewa-8
  • Delta-2
  • Dickinson-13
  • Gogebic-6
  • Houghton-18
  • Iron-4
  • Mackinac-2
  • Marquette-4
  • Menominee-9
  • Ontonagon-3
  • Schoolcraft-2

Six people reportedly died: one in Chippewa, two in Dickinson, two in Marquette, and one in Menominee County.
As of Tuesday afternoon a total of 12,921 coronavirus cases have been lab-confirmed in the U.P. Officials say 290 people have died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
