Officer involved in traffic accident ticketed by Marquette Police

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Chocolay Township Police officer found at fault in a four-vehicle accident has been ticketed for the incident.  

The crash happened last Friday around 6 p.m. on US-41 South at South Lake Street.  Officer Anthony Carrick pulled in front of a northbound vehicle as he headed back to his department. 

Marquette Police say Carrick was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.

Carrick was named the Chocolay Police Department’s Officer of the Year in 2013.  He was honored for making 45 drunk and drugged driving arrests in 2012. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
