Police identify type of vehicle involved in hit and run

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on County Road 550 last week. 

It happened May 7 near Sugarloaf Mountain. A 23-year-old Marquette man suffered numerous skull fractures. He was taken to UPHS-Marquette and recently released.

The Sheriff’s Office believes the suspect vehicle is a 2005 or 2006 Ford Econoline van that is now missing the passenger side mirror and bracket. Those items were found at the scene of the accident.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office at 225-8470.

Anyone with video surveillance along County Road 550 during the time of the incident is also asked to call the Sheriff’s Office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
