Police seek Escanaba attempted robbery suspect

Escanaba Department of Public Safety

ESCANABA, MI--   Escanaba police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who tried to rob the Northern United Federal Credit Union on Friday.

Officials say they received a call just before 6 p.m. that a man with a mask and handgun attempted to enter the credit union at 123 South Lincoln Road. The doors had been locked because lobby hours were over, but an employee was still in the building.

The suspect is described as 6’2” and between 230 and 250 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a black coat, and black hat/mask.

The suspect’s vehicle is an older dark blue or black GMC Acadia that has a sun roof.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Public Safety at 786-5911 or send a private message through Facebook.
