MARQUETTE, MI-- Marquette officials from past and present will gather for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday to celebrate the completion of the McClellan Avenue extension project.
First introduced in 1971, the plan called for a connection between Fair Avenue and Wright Street creating a true north-south route for traffic through the city. Officials say the extension is the final piece of that concept and connects every major east-west artery in Marquette.
The ceremony takes place at 1 p.m. just north of the intersection of McClellan and Fair avenues.
