IRON MOUNTAIN, MI-- The CEO and Administrator of Dickinson County Healthcare System has resigned.
Jon Schon tendered his resignation Tuesday night, following months of financial troubles, budget cuts, and failed acquisition attempts.
In September the Michigan Nurses Association—which represents DCHS nurses—asked Schon to leave his post. At that time hospital officials were considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
DCHS says Schon will transition to a consulting role as the hospital embarks on its organizational restructuring.
