Suspect in Chocolay Township crash charged with OWI

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Iron River man arrested in connection with a February accident that injured a Chocolay Township officer has been arraigned on drunk driving charges. 

Ronald Sutton, 68, of Rapid River is accused of broadsiding a police cruiser that was turning from US-41 onto Orchard Lane. Officer Anthony Carrick was taken to UPHS Marquette, treated and released.

Sutton was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving.

Sutton was arraigned this week on a charge of operating while intoxicated.  He posted bond and was released from the Marquette County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
