Update: Alger County assault

Update - 3/13 5pm

State Police are continuing their investigation into the home invasion and robbery Tuesday in Au Train township.

Troopers say the incident happened around 5:30a.m. at a residence on County Road 440.  They say 19-year-old Allen Miron was assaulted and rendered incapacitated by multiple suspects. The suspects robbed the victim of property then fled the scene. Miron was taken to Munising Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Troopers say the search for the suspects continues… and no description of the suspects is currently available.

AUTRAIN TOWNSHIP, MI--   Michigan State Police are investigating a possible kidnapping attempt in AuTrain Township.  

WLUC-TV reports a homeowner on Alger County Road 440 was hit with a blunt object Tuesday morning around 8:30. 

Police say the suspects are a white male and female.  The 20- to 25-year-old woman is described as 5’4” with dark, shoulder-length hair and a pierced cheek with a ring in it.  The man is described as being about 5’11” with blonde hair and baggy jeans. 

Officials say the pair knocked on the homeowner’s door, saying their car had broken down. 

A small knife was reportedly used in the incident, which remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
