SHINGLETON, MI-- An Alger County snowmobile accident has killed one person and injured another.
WLUC-TV reports it happened Sunday around 1:20 p.m. about a mile west of M-94 on Trail #8 in Shingleton. Officials say two snowmobiles operated by a 34-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were westbound when they failed to negotiate a curve. The machines left the trail and struck several trees.
The woman was taken to Munising Memorial Hospital for treatment. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say speed and inexperience are factors in the accident.
