Vehicles crash in front of Lowe's in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   No major injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in Marquette Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Friday around 7:50 p.m. on US-41 near the entrance to Lowe’s. Deputies arrived at the scene with Michigan State Police and found both vehicles in the eastbound lane.

Investigation revealed Ryan Galerneau of Ypsilanti was westbound when a pickup truck driven by William Porter of Traunik pulled out of the Lowe’s driveway and into his path. Galerneau struck the driver’s side of Porter’s truck, which spun around.

Porter was treated on scene by UPHS Marquette EMS. He was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
