WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI-- An ATV rider was taken to the hospital following a crash in Wells Township on Friday.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 5:20 p.m. to County Road SAA near County Road 426. Deputies say Patrick Pierzchala, 57, of downstate Westland was southbound on County Road SAA on a Polaris Sportsman 570 when he lost control of the vehicle. The ATV rolled and ejected him.
Pierzchala was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of his injuries.
Pierzchala was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was cited for careless driving.
