Wiese new head of prosecutors' association

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette County Prosecutor Matt Wiese has been elected president of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan.

The group is comprised of a 14-member board of directors and the Attorney General. They represent Michigan’s 83 county prosecuting attorney offices.

Wiese will serve a one-year term through August 2021. 

As president, Wiese has prioritized advocating for victim rights, continuing PAAM’s focus on advancing the professionalism of prosecution, criminal justice reform, and the prosecution of crimes of violence against women.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
