Woman injured in Negaunee crash

NEGAUNEE, MI--   A Negaunee woman had to be cut out of her vehicle following a crash in the city on Saturday night.

Officials say a pickup driven by an Ishpeming man was eastbound on US-41 and approaching the intersection with Teal Lake Avenue when he hit a car driven by the woman.  Emergency personnel had to use the Jaws of Life to get her out.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown at this time.

Negaunee City Police, Negaunee Fire Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and Marquette County Emergency Rescue assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
