ESCANABA, MI-- An Escanaba woman who allegedly threatened to blow up the Social Security Administration building has pleaded guilty in the case.
The Escanaba Department of Public Safety says on March 15 Julie Lucier, 50, made the threat when she became upset over a benefit dispute. Last week she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of malicious use of telecommunications services—punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Officers who investigated the case determined she had not made any plans to carry out the threat, nor was she intent on doing so.
Sentencing is set for April 17 in Delta County District Court.
