Woman trapped under car at Marquette cemetery

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman had to be rescued by emergency personnel after she was pinned under her car at Park Cemetery.

Tuesday around 12:20 p.m. a walker at the cemetery called 911 after he found Rebecca Johnson, 72, underneath her car.  City Police say she was outside of her vehicle when it started to roll.  Johnson tried to stop the car, but it rolled over her and pinned her underneath.

Officers, the Marquette Fire Department and UPHS Marquette EMS were able to get the vehicle off of Johnson, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
