Snowmobile trail grooming to continue this weekend in some parts of the state

MARQUETTE, MI— The Michigan DNR is extending the snowmobile trail grooming season through this weekend.

Grooming contracts with local snowmobile clubs typically expire after March 31st, but trails in some parts of the state have enough snow for riding.

Snow forecasted for the U.P. will also impact whether trails will be groomed in some places. If the storm arrives as predicted, for example, trails will be groomed in Marquette County up to Big Bay and in some other areas.

Snowmobilers should check with local clubs where they plan to ride, or the club's social media pages, to confirm whether grooming will be taking place in specific areas.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
