You can Make a Veteran Smile over the holidays

MARQUETTE, MI— You can bring joy to a veteran by sending them a letter this holiday season.

The Michigan Veteran Homes’ “Make a Veteran Smile Campaign” encourages residents to write a card or letter to a vet who may be feeling isolated because of the pandemic. And for some who don’t have close friends or family, it may be the only message they receive around the holidays.

Officials say vets in homes are always excited to receive mail, especially when the sender shares a little about themselves or their family.

To send a card or letter to a resident at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans, write ATTN: Make a Vet Smile and mail it to:

425 Fisher Street

Marquette, MI 49855
