Pedestrian in criticsal condition after being hit by pick-up

(ISHPEMING)- A National Mine woman is in critical condition after being struck by a pick-up truck in Ishpeming.

City police say the accident happened on North Third Street by the National Ski Hall of Fame.

Officers say a 50-year old man from Ely Township driving a 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck left the Holiday Gas Station parking lot going south on North Third Street.

The pick-up struck a 64-year old woman who was crossing the street to the Ski Hall of Fame.

The woman was taken to Marquette General Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the pick-up was taken into custody for driving on a denied and revoked license causing serious injury. He is currently lodged in the Marquette County jail.

The incident is under review by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s office.
