Man burned in Hancock fire

HANCOCK, MI--   Police are trying to determine what caused a fire at a Hancock tire shop Sunday.

Firefighters were called to Fine Line Tire around 6 p.m. and found a semi trailer full of old tires parked next to the building in flames.  They also found a man standing next to the trailer yelling for help.

The man was taken to U.P. Health System Portage, then transferred to a Milwaukee burn center.  His condition is unknown at this time.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the fire to call them at 482-3102.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
