Weekend car accident in Negaunee Township

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee Township Sunday.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post say the accident happened around 2:35 p.m. on US-41 at Heritage Drive.  They say Kimberly Larson, 37, of Negaunee pulled her minivan onto the highway in front of a sedan driven by Samantha Lawler, 22, of Marquette.

Two children in the Larson vehicle were not injured.  The drivers were taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

All were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.  The vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to the amount of damage they sustained.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
