Ishpeming driver going too fast before Negaunee Township crash

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Several people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee Township Monday. 

State Police from the Negaunee Post were dispatched around 11:25 a.m. to US-41 near Midway Drive. They learned Alonzo Feldbauer, 79, of Ishpeming was eastbound when he lost control of his Toyota Tundra and crossed the centerline. His vehicle was struck by a westbound Chevy passenger car driven by Alex Fraley, 29, of Gwinn.

Both drivers and their passengers were taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

Feldbauer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
