The Local Spin is part of the new music discovery program The Shuffle with Kurt Hauswirth, where we feature local musicians on Public Radio 90!
On this edition of The Local Spin, we feature local troubadour Michael Waite, who's been working his magic in the Upper Great Lakes region for a number of years. He needs no introduction for most people in tune with the Marquette and Upper Peninsula music scene, but for those unaware, he's a singer, songwriter, and entertainer with gentle grace and a powerful voice.
Michael also has the gift of collaboration, from family members to his extended musical family. He has an album of soulful tunes from 2008 called Let It Go, his debut album, and also has expanded his musical palette with the formation of the acoustic band Adam Sawfox (who was the musical entertainment at the Public Radio 90 Jitterbug Jive!). As of late, you may have seen him online at one of his livestream concerts with some of those musical friends.
Join us for a video interview with Michael, discussing his musical inspirations, his livestream concerts, collaborations, and upcoming projects.
