Reilly pleads in son's death

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Hancock man charged with involuntary manslaughter and two counts of second-degree child abuse has entered into a plea deal.

Benjamin Reilly, 27, was arrested in November for the death of his two-month-old son last summer.  He has pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree child abuse.  In exchange for his plea the involuntary manslaughter and other child abuse charge have been dropped.  Also dropped were breaking and entering at Finlandia University, receiving stolen goods, filing a false police report, and fleeing and eluding.

Reilly faces up to ten years in prison.

Sentencing will be held on February 24.
