Ihander sentenced for murder

MENOMINEE, MI--   A Menominee Township man found guilty in February of killing his girlfriend has been sentenced.

Gregory Ihander, 49, was convicted of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 43-year-old Jolene Eichhorn of Carney in 2015. Her body was found in the trunk of her car, which was found at Cedar River State Harbor Park.

Ihander was sentenced Monday to 40 to 50 years in prison in Menominee County Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
