Suggitt found competent for trial

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman appears headed to trial on charges stemming from a February domestic incident in which a gun was fired.

Amber Suggitt, 32, was found competent to stand trial this week. She was arrested after a shot was fired into a wall in a residence on the 100 block of East Fair Avenue February 28. She’s charged with assault with intent to murder, kidnapping, first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, and four counts of felony firearms.

Suggitt remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on an $8 million bond.

A preliminary exam is set for August 9 in Marquette County District Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
