UPSET nabs two suspects for drugs

MENOMINEE, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team is reporting two drug-related arrests in Menominee and Delta counties.

UPSET detectives and officers from the Menominee City Police Department conducted an investigation on a city resident.  The 39-year-old man was arrested Saturday and lodged in the county jail for delivery of a Schedule 4 narcotic and delivery of heroin.  Additional charges are pending.

And in December Delta County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a wellbeing check at a residence on M-35 in Ford River Township.  While there they observed meth-related components, which were disposed of by UPSET officials.

The 44-year-old male suspect was arrested Monday on one count of manufacturing meth.  He remains lodged at the Delta County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
