Suspects arrested on drug charges following UPSET investigations

HOUGHTON COUNTY, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has arrested three Houghton County residents involved in selling illegal drugs.

After a two-month investigation, UPSET detectives and officers from the Houghton City Police Department arrested Jason Paananen, 45, of Houghton on one count of delivery of Suboxone. His bond was set at $5,000.

Following a three-month investigation, UPSET and deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sally Gibson, 34, of Calumet, on three counts of delivery of methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $5,000 on each count.

And after a four-month investigation, UPSET and deputies arrested Martin Myllyoja, 38, of Dollar Bay on three counts of delivery of methamphetamine and one count of delivery of Suboxone. His bond was set at $10,000.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
