Tech graduate tapped as new DNR director

LANSING, MI (AP)--   The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has a new director. 

Keith Creagh is the current director of the state Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.  He replaces Rodney Stokes, who is leaving his post with the DNR to become a special advisor for Governor Snyder’s program to enhance cities through existing resources. 

Before heading MDARD Creagh was director of industry affairs for the Neogen Corporation and served with the Department of Agriculture for 30 years.  He received a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Michigan Technological University.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
