DNR fisheries plan available for comment

LANSING, MI (AP)--   Michigan wildlife regulators have developed a draft plan to guide management of the state's fisheries over the next five years.

The Department of Natural Resources' Fisheries Division is asking for public response to its plan and will accept comments through February 10.

Fisheries chief Jim Dexter says the blueprint deals with fish, habitat and anglers. It's designed to protect and improve water resources.

The draft plan was developed by division staffers with suggestions from the public at large and interested groups. More than 10,000 people responded to online surveys and phone interviews.
