Portion of M-28 still shut down in Gogebic County

WAKEFIELD, MI— M-28 in Wakefield will remain closed for a while.

That’s according to the Michigan Department of Transportation, which says in order to prevent further flooding in the city, crews will continue to pump Sunday Lake.

As a result, M-28 will stay closed east of Wakefield to Merriweather. Officials are asking drivers to use M-64 at this time.

While the lake recedes, the closure and detour may remain in place through Friday.
