Western UP Health Department reports 2 possible exposure sites

HANCOCK, MI--   Two sites in Houghton County have been identified as possible exposure sites for COVID-19.

The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department says they are Nutini’s Supper Club in Hancock and the Downtowner Lounge in Houghton. The date ranges are September 9-16 for Nutini’s and September 17-19 for the Downtowner. The health department says residents who visited those sites may be at a higher risk for exposure, as employees or patrons were there while infectious, and masking and social distancing guidelines were not consistently followed.

Officials are advising people that exposure could have occurred at the sites or several days later with close contact with someone who visited one of the sites.

Anyone who visited the properties and has developed symptoms such as cough, fever and shortness of breath should contact their health care provider.
