Man missing from Wakefield area

WAKEFIELD, MI— The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing Wakefield man.

Deputies say Steven Wasielewski, 30, has been missing since Saturday, June 10th. He is considered to have an altered mental status and may be in possession of a .38 caliber handgun.

Wasielewski is described as a 6’2”, 200-pound white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a beard and two tattoos: a peace sign on his left shoulder and the word “king” on his left hand.

Wasielewski is driving a maroon 1997 Honda CR-V. The license plate number is 8NJW60.

Anyone with information regarding Wasielewski’s whereabouts is asked to call the Gogebic County Sheriff's Office at 906-667-0203 or 911.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
