Search continues for missing Gogebic County man

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI— Gogebic County authorities continue to search for an Ironwood Township man with dementia who went missing last week.

Frank Wilson, 91, left his home on Sunset Road around midnight Thursday. He was driving a 2014 blue/gray Chevy Equinox with Michigan registration ELP054.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office launched searches locally and in the surrounding area. Deputies joined the Civil Air Patrol Saturday morning in a search using low-flying aircraft, but dense foliage hampered aerial views. They returned to the skies Sunday.

Wilson is described as 5’9” with blue eyes and gray hair.

Anyone with information regarding Wilson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office at 906-667-0203 or dial 911.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
