An interview with Executive Director Dani Simandl

Superior String Alliance will once again welcome string students this summer.

The SSA Summer Music Camp is open to students who play violin, viola, cello, or bass, with day camp and sleepaway opportunities. Campers will learn in individual and small-group sessions, with experienced faculty tailoring lessons to a student's needs. Faculty members also play with students during sectionals, orchestra rehearsals, and chamber music coaching.

Students experience being an audience member and a performer, with each camp session opening with a faculty recital, and ending with a camper orchestra concert. Musical activities include workshops, rehearsals, lessons, and more, along with the usual camp activities, like swimming, field games, and bonfires.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke about this year's camp with Dani Simandl, Executive Director of Superior String Alliance:

A conversation with Dani Simandl

Camp Dolce is a day camp option for students in grades 4 through 6, while Camps Vivace and Presto are sleep-away sessions for middle and high school students.

Visit superiorstringalliance.org for more information about the camp, tuition, scholarships, and more.

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
