Marquette County Habitat for Humanity is gearing up for two community fundraisers designed to support their mission of providing safe, affordable housing throughout the region. Ramps and Repairs Program Manager Henry Morley joined us in our studio to talk about both events, which offer a blend of fun, outreach, and impact.
The first event is a Bingo Fundraiser on Wednesday, August 13, held at the Up North Lodge in Gwinn. The evening will feature nine games, seventeen prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and the return of a familiar local caller. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. to allow time for guests to mingle, explore raffle items, and enjoy food and drinks before the games begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available exclusively through Marquette County Habitat’s administrative office or ReStore location in Harvey, and will also be available at the door.

This event is part of Habitat’s broader effort to connect with all corners of Marquette County. While new home builds remain an important part of their work, the organization’s repair and accessibility services allow them to make a much larger impact—completing approximately 40 projects annually to help homeowners safely remain in their homes.

Following the bingo night, the community is invited to the Second Annual Square Dance Fundraiser on Saturday, September 13 at Willow Farm. This larger-scale fundraiser will feature live music, square and line dancing, and plenty of opportunities to support the organization’s work. Tickets for the square dance will be available at the bingo event as a kickoff to a month of promotional efforts leading up to the September gathering.
Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Morley about the upcoming fundraising events:
Beyond attending the events, Morley encouraged community members to consider volunteering in any capacity: on build sites, at the office, or through board participation. Whether swinging a hammer or swinging your partner on the dance floor, there are many ways to get involved.
