The end of summer will bring a Hawaiian-themed surf rock party to Negaunee, as local band Ramble Tamble joins forces with Strega Nonna restaurant for a festive evening of music, food, and community gathering on Sunday, August 31st.
Ramble Tamble, led by brothers Dylan and Devyn Trost, has carved out a niche in the Upper Peninsula with their twangy, guitar-driven surf rock sound. Inspired by the cinematic energy of 1960s instrumentals, their shows blend originals with reimagined covers, often stretching songs into improvisational territory. The band formed its surf identity after Dylan began experimenting with a vintage baritone guitar, sparking a new creative direction.
For Strega Nonna owner Rachael Grossman, hosting the event is part of an ongoing effort to weave music and art into the restaurant’s community space. Past concerts there have included both local and national artists, with some events raising awareness and support for regional causes. Grossman sees these gatherings as a way to bring people together around food, art, and celebration.

Listen to Dylan, Devyn, and Rachael speak with Public Radio 90's Kurt Hauswirth about the event:
The upcoming beach-themed evening reflects that spirit, offering a chance for people from across Marquette County to enjoy live music in a playful, summer setting. Ramble Tamble’s surf rock, paired with Strega Nonna’s creative hospitality, aims to capture the feeling of squeezing the last bit of joy out of the season.
The event takes place at Strega Nonna restaurant in Negaunee on Sunday, August 31st, with doors at 7pm and the show at 8pm. A ticketed round-trip shuttle will leave The Crib in Marquette at 6:30pm and return from Strega Nonna at 11pm.
