Gault to face different charges following death of victim

MANISTIQUE, MI--   A Manistique man arrested for shooting a Cooks resident faces new charges, after the victim died of his wounds. 

Trevor Gault, 33, was initially charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearms in connection with the June 17 shooting.

Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post say the victim, 55-year-old Douglas Orr of Cooks, died Sunday as a result of his injuries. The Schoolcraft County Prosecutor’s Office will modify the charges to reflect his death.

Investigators are still actively seeking information related to the incident. Contact Detective Hauswirth at the Gladstone Post at 428-4411 with any information that might be helpful to the case.
