Injuries reported in Gladstone traffic accident

GLADSTONE, MI--   One person had to be airlifted to UPHS-Marquette following a crash in Gladstone.

Gladstone Public Safety and Volunteer Fire Department members responded Monday around 1:50 p.m. to US-2/41 at S. Hill Road. They say an 85-year-old Gladstone man crossed the intersection and failed to yield to a vehicle northbound on US-2/41 driven by a 50-year-old Gladstone man.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free a front seat passenger.

The 85-year-old driver was taken to St. Francis Hospital. A 79-year-old passenger was flown to UPHS-Marquette for further treatment.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
