Marijuana suspect enters plea in federal court

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Manistique man caught in an UPSET drug bust in January has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Jason Gregurash, 37, allegedly tried to deliver more than 15 pounds of marijuana to Wisconsin.  A search warrant executed at his home uncovered five pounds of marijuana and 72 plants—all with a street value of $70,000.

Gregurash pleaded guilty this week to attempting to manufacture 50 or more marijuana plants.

Sentencing is set for December 15 in Marquette Federal Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
